Most people with thoughts of suicide invite help but these opportunities can be missed, dismissed or avoided, leaving people more alone and at greater risk.
This safeTALK workshop prepares you to help by using TALK (Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe).

The safeTALK training module covers the following topics:

  • Suicide prevention skills
  • Steps to recognise persons with thoughts of suicide
  • Strategies to help using TALK (Tell, Ask, Listen and KeepSafe)
  • Resources available for service providers (further online PD and resources)

Who should attend?

The 3.5 hour safeTALK workshop is for everyone who wants to help prevent suicide: front line workers, clergy, volunteers, parents, youth (age 15 and older), police officers, teachers, bicultural workers, interpreters or anyone who wants to learn suicide prevention skills. This workshop is delivered by the Phoenix Centre and Livingworks.

Upcoming workshop dates:

Thursday 21st of September, 9am – 12:30pm at the Migrant Resource Centre, 1A Anfield St Glenorchy

SafeTALK is subsidised by Primary Health Tasmania and the cost is $82.50 (full fee) or $60.50 (concession)
